Will Popy finally return after three years?

National Award-winning actress Sadika Parvin Popy is all set to release her new film, "Direct Attack" on December 23. In the film, Popy can be seen acting opposite noted actor, Amin Khan. While the shooting for this film concluded some three years back, it only recently received a clearance certificate from the censor board.

Popy's last film, "The Director", was released in 2019. Since then, the actress has largely been under the radar, for almost three years now. Some suggest that she has become a mother and is on maternity leave. However, there is no evidence to support this theory.

Regarding the release of "Direct Attack", director Sadek Siddique shared his thoughts, saying, "Promotional activities for my film will start in a few days, but my lead actress is nowhere to be found. I don't even know whether she will continue to work on the silver screen or not. Popy's absence is causing us to be indecisive regarding our plans for promotional activities. We really need to know whether she will be here when we are close to the movie's release."

Prior to her disappearance, Popy had praised "Direct Attack" to the media on multiple occasions. Popy had stated that she really enjoyed the film's storyline and enjoyed playing her character in the movie.

"Popy, indeed, enjoyed the story of the film. Now that 'Direct Attack' will be released soon, she should also be here with us. If she's going to leave the film industry, then she should tell us. Maybe this will be her last film," added Sadek.
