Lightning strikes kill 3 farmers in Mymensingh

Three people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Mymensingh today.

The victims were identified as Delwar Hossain (40), Rubel Mia (16), and Robin Mia (14), reports our correspondent quoting police.

Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge of Ishwarganj Police Station, Md Abdul Kadir, said that around 1 pm today, Rubel Mia was struck by lightning while working on the field near his home. He passed away on the spot, the OC added.

Robin Mia died on the spot after being struck by lightning while working at a paddy field in Nandail area around 4 pm, said the OC of Nandail Police Station, Mizanur Rahman Akanda.

Quoting locals, OC of Phulpur Police Station, Abdulalh Al Mamun, said that Delwar died when he was struck by lightning while working in his vegetable field around 1:30 pm.

Police recovered the bodies and handed them over to the family members.
