State minister regrets power cut in Sunamganj
Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has regretted suspending power supply to Sunamganj district and adjoining areas.
The power supply was cut in order to avoid any electrical accident as Chhatak and Sunamganj grid sub-centres were inundated, according to a notification signed by the ministry's Deputy Chief Information Officer Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin
Meanwhile, Sylhet region is also at risk of power cut as switchyard of the Kumargaon grid sub-center in Sylhet has also been inundated, the notice added.
State Minister Nasrul Hamid urged people to be patient in this situation. Power supply will be restored as soon as the flood situation improves and the matter is being monitored round the clock, the notice added.
A team has been formed to monitor the situation, it read.
