Mild cold wave sweeps parts of Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today reported that mild cold waves are sweeping over Panchagarh, Rajshahi, Jashore, and Chuadanga districts, with the cold conditions expected to persist.

Chuadanga recorded the country's lowest temperature at 8.7 degrees Celsius in the morning, according to BMD.

In other regions, the minimum temperatures were 9.2 degrees Celsius in Panchagarh's Tetulia, 9.7 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, and 10 degrees Celsius in Jashore.

Dhaka's minimum temperature was recorded at 16 degrees Celsius.

In its latest weather bulletin today, BMD predicted that night temperatures may fall slightly, while day temperatures could see a slight rise over the next 24 hours starting at 9:00am today.

The forecast also indicated that weather is likely to remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky across the country. Moderate to thick fog may form in various areas from midnight until noon.

In Dhaka, wind direction is expected to be north-northwesterly, with speeds ranging between six to 12 kilometers per hour.
