Mild cold wave: Tetulia records lowest temperature of 9.5 degrees
A mild cold wave is sweeping over Panchagarh, with the country's lowest temperature recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius in Tetulia at 9:00am today.
The temperature in Tetulia was 12.3 degrees Celsius yesterday, 9.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday, and 9.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday, said Jitendra Nath, assistant officer at the Tetulia Weather Observatory Centre.
Meteorological classifications define a mild cold wave as temperatures between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius, a moderate cold wave as 6 to 8 degrees Celsius, and a severe cold wave as below 6 degrees Celsius.
Despite the cold, daily wage earners continued their work as clear skies brought bright sunshine from the morning.
The weather is expected to remain similar over the next few days, as per the Tetulia Weather Observatory Centre.
The region experienced a high of 27.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 25.0 degrees Celsius yesterday, despite the ongoing cold wave.
