Crocodile Juliet lays 34 eggs in Karamjal
Juliet, the female crocodile of Karamjol Wildlife Rescue Center of Sundarban, laid 34 eggs today.
Eight eggs have been kept in the natural environment and other 26 of them have been kept in the incubator to hatch, Md Azad Kabir, in-charge officer of Karamjol Wildlife Rescue Center, told The Daily Star.
"During last two years the eggs didn't hatch in the incubator, which is why this year we have taken both natural and artificial measures," he added.
Karamjol is a forest station for the Rangers. The saltwater crocodile-breeding centre has been trying to save the saltwater crocodiles by breeding them successfully since 2002.
Currently the rescue centre has six grown crocodiles and two hundred babies, Md Azad Kabir said.
