Adviser Shafiqual says Prof Yunus' proposal to create problems

Adviser Shafiqual Huq Chowdhury yesterday said Prof Yunus' proposal to form all-party committee in all polling centers is not acceptable, as it will create various problems

"I don't agree with him, it will create problems, this is not possible in any country of the world," he told reporters at a press conference in the PIB conference room.

The press conference was arranged on the occasion of National Youth Day.

Nobel laureate Prof Yunus at a function here on Monday proposed forming all-party committee in all polling centers of the country, which will announce whether the polls were free and fair.

3rd anniversary of Benin tragedy today

Today is the third anniversary of the Benin tragedy.

On this day in 2003, 15 Bangladesh Army officers, on UN peacekeeping mission in Sierra Leone and Liberia, were killed in an air crash in Benin.

To mark the day different socio-cultural organisations have taken various programmes.

Rhythm Cultural Society will mark the day as 'World Peace Keepers' Day' and organise a discussion at the National Press Club.

Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka will attend the programme as the chief guest. Prof Anisuzzaman and Maj Gen (Retd) Amin Ahmed Chowdhury will attend the function as guests.
