Head of a department at BSMMU tests coronavirus positive
The head of a department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has been tested positive with the coronavirus.
Director (Hospital) Brig. Gen. Dr A K Mahbubul Hoque confirmed the matter to The Daily Star over a phone call.
The doctor's test results came in today.
"We have sent 8 people who were in direct contact with the doctor into home quarantine. These include hospital staff and his personal assistant," said Dr Hoque.
However, they are not doing contact tracing among patients.
"The number of patients have dwindled and the 8 people most in contact with him were the ones sent to quarantine," the director added.
