2 more die of Covid, 75 new cases

Two more Covid-19 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours till 8:00am today.

In the meantime, at least 75 new Covid-19 cases were recorded, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

On Saturday, two deaths were recorded after two months. The last death from Covid-19 was reported on March 28.

The positivity rate, however, dropped to 5.83 percent today from yesterday's 7.64 percent.

A total of 1,287 samples were tested across the country.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,39,714, and the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country stands at 29,450.

At least 38 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 20,06,395 and the recovery rate stands at 98.37 percent, added the release.
