Covid spike continues: 12 deaths 3,359 cases in 24hrs

At least 3,359 new infections were recorded and 12 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 12.03 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.62 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,123 and the mortality rate stands at 1.75 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 16,04,664, added the release.

A total of 27,920 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 302 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,51,955 and the recovery rate at 96.72 percent.

Of the 12 deceased, six were male and six female.

Of them, one was between 21-30 years old, four were within 51-60, four were between 61-70, two were within 71-80, and one was between 91-100 years old, added the release.
