People 60 and above to get 4th Covid vaccine dose: health minister

People aged 60 years and above will receive the fourth dose of Covid-19 vaccine, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said today.

"We have vaccines in our stock and had a talk with the prime minister in this regard. The technical committee has also endorsed our plan to administer the fourth dose of the vaccine," the minister said while addressing an event as chief guest marking the World AIDS Day 2022.

Meanwhile, the health directorate has started a weeklong special countrywide campaign to inoculate 90 lakh people, aged 12 years and above, with the second and booster doses of Covid-19 vaccines .
