People 60 and above to get 4th dose of Covid vaccine

People aged 60 years and above will receive their fourth dose of coronavirus vaccines, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said yesterday.

"We have vaccines in our stock and had talked to the prime minister in this connection. The technical committee has also endorsed our plan to administer the fourth dose," the minister said.

He made the comments while addressing an event as chief guest marking World AIDS Day 2022.

Meanwhile, the health directorate has started a weeklong countrywide campaign to inoculate 90 lakh people, aged 12 years and above, with the second and booster doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
