2 Covid patients die; positivity rate 8.36

Two patients with Covid-19 died and at least 620 new Covid-19 cases were recorded by the health directorate in the 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday. 

The total number of cases has now risen to rose to 20,00,899, said a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid deaths in the country is 29,258 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

The positivity rate, against 7,419 samples tested, was 8.36 percent during the period, down from 9.81 percent the previous day. The overall positivity rate is 13.76 percent.

At least 1,765 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in the period, taking total recoveries to 19,33,259. The recovery rate is 96.62 percent.

The two deceased were male and aged between 81-90 years old.
