14 more die in a day

Fourteen more dengue patients died in different hospitals across the country over the 24 hours ending yesterday morning.

Of those, 10 were in Dhaka.

The total number of deaths in dengue this year rose to 215, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

At least 2,653 dengue patients were hospitalised in the 24 hours, of whom 1,327 were in Dhaka.

With the new cases, the total number of dengue cases rose to 40,341, of which 23,676 were from outside Dhaka.

Some 8,189 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment. Over half of them are in Dhaka.

Total number of deaths in dengue was 281 last year while the number of cases was 62,382, according to the DGHS.
