68 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 68 dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country in 24 hours till 8:00am today.

With them, 1,207 patients have been diagnosed with dengue this year and only 37 of them are from outside Dhaka, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 835 people was infected from July 1 till this morning, which indicates a fast-rising trend of the disease.

In June, 272 were infected and while in May, 43 were infected.

Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 326 of them are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and four outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
