Dengue fever: 194 patients hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 194 dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of them, only 51 patients are outside Dhaka.

With this, the total number of patients admitted to hospitals due to dengue fever this year stands at 18,744.

Of them, 547 dengue patients were hospitalised in the first three days of October. At least, 7,841 dengue patients were hospitalised in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June and 43 in May.

According to the DGHS, till now 68 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year.

At present, 758 patients are admitted to 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka and 197 patients in other divisions of the country, the DGHS data showed.
