Dengue fever: No deaths, 49 hospitalised in 24hrs

At least 49 patients with dengue fever were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till this morning.

With this, the total number of dengue crossed 62,000 this year, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the new cases, the total number of dengue patients rose to 62,021 this year, of whom 22,965 are from outside Dhaka.

A total of 276 dengue patients have died this year.

Among the death cases, 169 are in Dhaka, 26 in Cox's Bazar, 36 in Chattogram, 11 in Barishal, eight in Khulna, six in Mymensingh, five in Rajshahi, two Narail and one each in Narsingdi, Kushtia, Pabna, Bagerhat, Khagrachhari, Bogura, Madaripur and Feni.

Meanwhile, at least 61,260 patients have already been released. Of them, 22,646 are from outside Dhaka.

Some 485 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of whom 214 are from outside Dhaka.
