DNCC to work with 5,500 volunteers to combat Aedes mosquito breeding

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is launching a public awareness campaign to prevent the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes during the upcoming monsoon season.
Around 5,500 volunteers will collaborate with DNCC in this initiative.
DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz announced the campaign today at a roundtable discussion at Nagar Bhaban, titled "Preparations and Actions for Dengue Prevention," organised by the DNCC.
The DNCC Administrator emphasised, "Public awareness is crucial for mosquito control. Therefore, we will give the highest priority to increasing awareness among citizens."
He further stated that modern mosquito traps would be installed in public spaces under DNCC's jurisdiction. Additionally, the effectiveness of insecticides used for mosquito control would be tested in neutral laboratories.
