Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is going resume its drives against unregistered hospitals and clinics from tomorrow (August 29, 2022) after a three-month break.

The drive will continue till Thursday (September 1, 2022), Additional Director General (administration) of the DGHS Prof Dr Ahmedul Kabir said at press conference at the meeting room of the DGHS in the capital's Mohakhali today (August 28, 2022).

The hospitals and clinics, which have already applied but are yet to get registered, will not be allowed to run their operations, Dr Ahmedul said.

"We had given (unauthorised hospitals and clinic) three-month time. Those who did not grab the opportunity and apply for registration or even those who have applied but still waiting for the registration will not be able to run the hospitals or clinics," he said.

Legal action will be taken against the doctors if anyone is found working for any unregistered institution, he said.

Earlier, DGHS conducted a nationwide drive against the unregistered hospitals and clinics starting from May 26 and shut down total 1,641 institutions across the country.
