How important is the time of having meals?
For a long time, some experts consider that timing of meals is as important as what we eat. Interestingly, more new results are coming as new researches are emerging. Well, late-night eaters would not like the answer as late-night eating really affects our body. But how bad is it?
Scientists have found that eating late night dinner could increase the risk of suffering from a heart attack. Eating later can promote a negative profile of weight, energy and hormone markers.
As well as contributing to weight gain, a new study has suggested that eating/snacking late at night could increase the risk of diabetes and heart diseases.
Researchers from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania found that eating late at night raises glucose and insulin levels — which are related to type 2 diabetes. They also found evidences that poor timing of meals can also affect cholesterol levels which can increase the risk of heart diseases or suffering from a heart attack.
According to some studies, eating late at night can have one feeling hungrier than usual when s/he wakes up the next morning. Couple of researchers believed food has the ability to make their dreams more weird, confusing or disturbing. And it is well established that acid reflux, heart burn etc. are very common for late night eaters.
So, today science has also supported in many ways the well-known old saying 'early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise'
