Hyundai Elantra GT
Designed and released for the North American market, Hyundai's Elantra GT is one offering from the South Koreans that we wish we had in the local market. The 2.0-liter Nu engine features Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), which results in 173 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 154 lb.-ft. of torque at a 4,700 rpm. Considering it's a small hatchback intended for family use rather than full on hot-hatch performance, those numbers are interesting enough. Available with a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC or a six-speed manual, the Elantra GT also boasts respectable fuel efficiency figures.
The styling is eye-catching and if you strip away the Hyundai badge (previously synonymous with cut price, budget motoring for the uninformed), you might even mistake it as a premium European hatchback. Range of options for the exterior are massive, meaning you can spec up your Elantra GT and make it warmer than it already is.
The Bangladeshi market warmed up to the Sonata and Elantra well enough, so why not give us some hotter merchandise to play around with?
