Two explosives-laden drones crash at Jammu airport
Two explosives-laden drones crashed into the Indian Air Force station in India's Jammu region today, in what the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh termed as a "terror attack".
Two IAF personnel were injured when the drones slammed into the station at around 1:40 am local time, reports our New Delhi corresponent.
The first blast blew the roof of a single-story building at the technical area of the airport manned by the IAF in the Satwari area of Jammu while the second one was on the ground, officials said.
Defence PRO Lt Col Devender Anand said no damage has been reported to the equipment at the blast site.
Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered an FIR under the stringent anti-terror Unlawful Activities Prevention Act in connection with two explosions at the airport.
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal HS Arora, on the incident.
An alert has also been sounded across the Jammu division and adjacent Pathankot district in Punjab bordering Pakistan.
