Kolkata pull off stunning heist
Kolkata Knight Riders pulled off an incredible victory, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 82 runs after posting a meagre 131.
Bangalore collapsed in stunning fashion at a hostile Eden Gardens as they were bundled out for just 49, with Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Woakes and Colin de Grandhomme picking up three wickets each.
The rot in Bangalore's star-studded batting line-up began with captain Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for a golden duck off the third ball of the innings. West Indies firebrand Chris Gayle consumed 17 balls and made just seven before being sent back, while South Africa virtuoso AB de Villiers made eight off six.
Incredibly, none of Bangalore's batsmen reached double digits. Kedhar Jadhav's 9 was the highest score of the day.
Earlier, player-of-the-match Sunil Narine scored a 17-ball 34, featuring six fours and six to give Kolkata an aggressive start before it all petered out.
In the day's earlier game, Hashim Amla made a sublime half- century as Kings XI Punjab defeated Gujarat Lions by 26 runs in an Indian Premier League match, on Sunday.
