Jamuna crosses danger level in Bogura, northern river water continues rising

The water level of the Jamuna River crossed the danger level (DL-16.73) at the Mathurapara point and is flowing 3cm above the danger level in Bogura's Sariakandi upazila today due to heavy rainfall.

On the other hand, the water level of the Bangali River is currently flowing 5.3cm below the danger level, but is expected to rise in the coming days.

Md Humayan Kabir, assistant engineer of Bogura Water Development Board said, "Due to the heavy rainfall throughout the country, water levels of the rivers have been slowly rising since last week. But there is no possibility of flood in the next five days."

Meanwhile, in Gaibandha, the water level of the Teesta River is flowing 22cm below the danger level, the Brahmaputra is flowing 22cm below the danger level, the Korotoa is 23cm below, while the Ghagot is flowing 16cm below the danger level around 6.00am today.

Md Mokhlesur Rahman, executive engineer of Gaibandha WDB said that the water level will increase more in the next two days.
