Lalmonirhat mob attack: NHRC starts investigation into Jewel’s killing
Bangladesh National Human Rights Commission has stared investigation into the death Younus Muhammad Shahidunnabi Jewel, who was beaten and burnt to death by a mob in Lalmonirhaton Thursday following a rumour of demeaning the Holy Quran.
A three-member investigation team headed by Al Mahmud Fauzul Kabir, director of NHRC's Complaints and Investigation Department, reached Burimari Bazar area near the land port of the district this morning.
The investigation committee is visiting Burimari Jam-e Masjid, Union Parishad office and the crime scene and taking testimony of locals including the eyewitnesses.

Once they finish taking testimony, the committee will make the outcome public, FauzulKabirtold journalists.
The commission would investigate and submit a report within seven days, he added.
