BNP-led 20-party to meet EC tomorrow
The BNP-led 20-party alliance will hold a meeting with the Election Commission tomorrow over the parliamentary election slated for December 30.
The meeting is scheduled to be held with the commission around 4:00pm, Shahdat Hossain Selim, joint secretary general of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), a component of the 20-party alliance, told The Daily Star this evening.
According to the 20-party alliance, the level-playing field has not yet been ensured ahead of the upcoming general election.
Besides, they said the arrest of the opposition party men is still going on unabatedly despite repeated calls to the government not to harass or arrest of the opposition party men for the sake of holding of the next general election in a free and fair manner.
These issues are likely to be discussed in the meeting with the commission, a leader of the alliance said.
Several top leaders of the 20-party alliance led by LDP President Col (retd) Oli Ahmed will join the meeting, the source said.
