Clichéd advices are such that all of us have heard them to the point it has become a part of our daily conversations, but have we ever stopped to think about if any of them happens to be true? Whether they are just empty words to make us feel better by the self-help gurus or motivate us to become the best versions of ourselves, here are five clichéd advices that happen to be true.

Never give up

This is the number one staple for almost all self-help books and coaches out there. While clichéd, it does not stop being a piece of powerful and inspiring advice. We are bound to get complications in our life that can make us feel like life is just a never-ending road of obstacles, but we should never lose hope even amidst adversity and instead always keep trying to do our best. As different studies have shown, a never give up mindset helps us in increasing our self-worth, resilience, and happiness which ultimately helps us overcome hardships and emerge victorious.

Failure is the pillar of success

Even though it might sound a bit perplexing, failure is in essence not something that we should dread to the point of dictating it our life, instead, we have to embrace it and see it as opportunities to improve and grow into something better. That's why failure is considered the foundation that's needed before success can happen.

Always try your best

It sounds quite simple, and most of the time it actually is, as it's up to us to give maximum effort into anything we are doing and move forward with passion, without a disregard of the outcome or what others have to say about it. This advice essentially puts forth the idea that if we always strive to be the best version of ourselves, then we will be in control of our actions, resulting in a positive mind frame for our overall well-being.

Honesty is the best policy

As far as clichés go, this one sounds quite wise, and rightly so, as being truthful and earnest in our actions gives way to the foundation of respect and trust. Doing anything unethical like lying or being corrupted might make someone feel good at that moment, but in the long term, it will always come back to haunt them. An honest person, on the other hand, isn't tormented by the insecurities of the dishonest which in turn enhances their integrity and self-esteem.

Follow your dreams

While this probably sounds too simplistic, it does point to the fact that no matter what or how we should always go for something that we are passionate about and aligns without aspirations. Only we have the drive to create our own path and following our dreams can have the biggest impact on our happiness and fulfilment in life. Visionaries like Steve Jobs, who dropped out of college and decided to follow his dreams to create ground-breaking inventions, are one but many examples of how following your dreams is one of the conditions to achieve greatness.
