Amari Dhaka Announces Partnership With Shishu Polli
To support the unprivileged who continue to struggle with hunger and isolation, Amari Dhaka announced its partnership with Shishu Polli Plus.
Shishu Polli Plus is a children's village that aims to provide long-term rehabilitation services to unprivileged children and their mothers who are neglected due to poverty, stigma, trauma and other social concerns. The CSR project is an Amari initiative to give back to the community. A committee was formed with the participation of all departments at Amari Dhaka.
On 11 January 2016, Mr. Kelly Lewis, General Manager of Amari Dhaka, along with other staff representatives, donated an amount of money to Ms. Patricia Kerr, Overseas Director of Shishu Polli Plus. The funding will enable its members to increase acquisition in necessary areas. Also, Amari looks to purchase handmade bags and birthday cards from Shishu Polli.
The children's village had a beauty salon closed due to the lack of proper financial support. Amari will also be donating necessary support so that the salon can reopen.
During the event, Amari Dhaka's CSR committee cut a cake with all the unprivileged children. "Amari is very fortunate to be partnering with Shishu Polli Plus, to reach our shared goal of improving communities across the country," said Kelly Lewis, General Manager Amari Dhaka. "This generous support enables us to further our collective efforts to address three of the biggest threats of ageing: hunger, isolation and loss of independence," she added.
