Show celebrates 40 Years of Aarong

Aarong, the leading lifestyle retail chain of Bangladesh, presented a fashion show at the Aarong 40 Years Festival, held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium, Dhaka on the 26 October, 2018. The three-day festival was organised to celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary, and aimed to promote Bangladesh's traditional art, crafts and fashion.

Taaga, Taaga Man and Herstory, along with two special line-ups, Dancing Peacock and, Eternal Grace were showcased along with some exquisite works of nakshi kantha and Jamdani saris.

To stat the proceedings of the evening, Taaga Man took on stage. Taaga Man, launched early in August, is a form of self-expression. It offers globally inspired modern designs infused with ethnic flair. The line showcased a range of casual, smart casual, formal, winter and traditional wear. The T-shirts and Polos featured solid ombré shades, geometric motifs, barcode style prints, and neon hints. The line also includes denim shirts and jackets with military badge motifs, and an ode to our army with coats inspired from starred Generals. The models also showcased handbags and jewellery by Taaga Man.

Taaga, which has been on the market since 2003, is Aarong's specialised sub-brand for girls. The 40 Years Festival fashion show was an opportunity for them to illustrate their renewed vision for women in the. The colour palette of the line indulged on pink, white, and blues. There were many of the natural dye designs and block print motifs as seen on the natural dye craft exhibition. The line also included metallic screen printed T-shirts, paired with boho chic skirts and flowy wide-leg pants. The overall theme of the line was stylish and fashion forward comfortable wear for the new age busy Bangladeshi girls.

Herstory, Aarong's exclusive designer line for women, introduced back in 2017, blends modernity with time honoured artistry. The theme for the fashion show was a reflection of the global change that women are driving. The line exhibited saris and kameezs with new innovative cuts, strategic pattern placements, and mirror embellishments that made the models sparkle as they walked the runway. The palette of the line was of earthy tones.

The Dancing Peacock collection was designed to represent Aarong's spirituality. The Eternal Grace line was a tribute to our Bangladeshi identity with Jamdani and nakshi kantha on saris, kameezs, panjabis and sherwanis.
