Cannes'18
Bella Hadid's
Fresh Spring Glam
Bella Hadid is known (and loved) for her simple makeup, and this look was no exception. But the stand-out for this is the monochromatic blush tones all across her crease, cheeks as well on the lips. The tones are not just tying her look together, but also making it look super fresh and spring appropriate! The highlighted inner corners and long natural lashes are making her eyes look big and awake. The contoured nose and cheeks are bringing back some dimension, still keeping the look very natural.
To achieve this makeover, use similar tones on your crease, cheeks and lips. You can use blush tones like Bella did, or even go for warm tones (for more of a summer-y vibe) or even nude (a Kim K staple). Keep the eyes very minimal, use a satin lipstick and a bright champagne shimmer shade for the inners corners.
Joan Small's
Bold Liner Look
This look is one of our favourites because of how simple yet striking it is. Joan kept it very simple and neutral, with a matte base, nude lips and chiselled cheeks. The star of her look is this beautiful turquoise eyeliner; which added the perfect pop of colour, turning this typical look into something unique. She kept her lower lash bare, keeping all the drama limited to her upper lid.
To get this look, pair your everyday neutral makeup with a colourful, dramatic winged liner. You may use any bright shade of your choice for the wing.
Sara Sampaio's
Hot Summer Glam
For Spring/Summer, nothing can truly beat a hot red-orange lip! And Sara Sampaio is here to remind us why this shade has always been an OG! She paired this bold lipstick with a very subtle, brown cut-crease, defined yet natural-looking eyebrows, accentuated inner corners and coral, flushed cheekbones. The best thing about this look in particular is that on our Bengali warm, golden skin tones, it can look extremely flattering! Seriously, we're bottomline obsessed!
To achieve this look, do a brown cut-crease (with precise blending brush), don't use a concealer to keep it subtle like hers, use a lighter brown or bone shade on the lid, champagne highlighter on the inner corners, a coral blush and any red-orange lipstick you own!
Kendall Jenner's
Smokey Cateye
Kendall Jenner went for a minimal-glam look for her debut on the red carpet. She wore a full coverage base makeup and kept the overall look very neutral and glowy. A subtle highlight, soft contour and a satin nude blush paired with overlined, plump nude lips couldn't suit her more! She kept her eyes soft yet captivating by using a black eyeshadow to get the smokey, winged liner effect.
To get her look, just use any black eyeshadow to draw the soft, smokey winged line. Overline your lips with a nude lip pencil and apply a nude lipstick that's slightly darker than your skin tone. Finish off by highlighting your cheekbones with a light hand and applying a nude blush (light-brown eyeshadow would do too)!
Kristen Stewart's
Dramatic Take
Kristen Stewart went for quite a few bold looks for this year's Cannes. But this one's our favourite by far as she really stood out of the box; especially by pairing bold with bold! That really takes confidence to pull off and she did so with grace--major props to her! She went for an icy blue on the lid, matte taupe on the crease and a deeper, shimmery blue on her lower lash line. She's rocking the bushy brow trend, making her eyes look even bolder! For lips, she chose something unconventional to go with this eye-look and a neon coral lipstick! She kept the rest of the makeup very natural to bring the whole look together.
For a night out, you can try this look by going for a light coverage base, similar icy lids and a bright, bold lip!
Alessandra Ambrosio's
Neutral-Fierce look
If you have a naturally structured face and sharp features like Alessandra Ambrosio does, this look is for you to accentuate those even more! She kept her look very natural, with a glowy base, slightly flushed cheeks and soft matte pink-nude lips. What really makes her look so special are the lifted wing, arched brows and defined cheekbones. She has a sharp contour on her nose as well, adding even more dimension to her face. This look is giving a fierce and sexy impression, which, we cannot have enough of!
This is probably the easiest to achieve if you have naturally chiselled cheekbones. All you have to do is contour your face to define the hollows, draw the arch of your brows higher than usual (ever so slightly), create a lifted wing and you're good to go!
Sara Sampaio's
Mesmerizing Royal Blue Eyes
Another stunning look by Sara Sampaio, this is absolutely breathtaking. Blue on the eyes is very 'in' at the moment, and she did justice to this trend in the best way possible. She used a rich, royal blue eyeshadow on her lid and winged it out while still keeping the edges blended. She used a blue liner all the way from the inner to outer corners of her lower lash line and added a white shimmery shade to the inner corners. The winged out eyeshadow combined with the unblended lower lash is what's making her eyes look so dreamy and alluring. She kept the rest of her makeup basic with nude lips and contoured cheeks balance out with all the drama going on her eyes.
Create this ravishing look for any special occasion by just using a royal blue eyeshadow in the same way and pairing it with your go-to nude lipstick!
Amber Heard's
Show-Stopping Look
Amber Heard went for the most classic look, a matte, red lip with a black winged eyeliner. But, at Cannes, there's always a twist! She made this ever-so-classic look stand-out by adding silver rhinestones on the middle of her lower lash line! And we are SO into it! The rhinestones reflect light, especially for where it's been placed, creating a doe-eyed effect! Its sparkle most definitely made her simple eyes look sensational. She went for a super defined cheekbones too, along with making us realise one more time- "you can never go wrong with a red lip."
This look is wearable for almost any occasion. Do your usual cat-eye and red, followed by super defined cheekbones. You can skip the rhinestone if you want to. If not, just place a rhinestone on your bottom lash line with the help of tweezers, using lash glue to stick!
