The joy of doing nothing
In this busy old city where you can barely have time to sleep or have a heartfelt conversation with your school friend who you last spoke to one year back, you come to a conclusion that life is certainly not a bed of roses and you admit that your teachers taught you the right kind of idioms.
As years pass by so does the idea of taking care of yourself. But you need to stop for a second and think if your life is only burdened with the jobs, classes, responsibilities and 8:00AM mandatory meetings.
You need to stop time and think about yourself because firstly the life you are leading is for yourself and then for the people you love and care about. So let us find beauty in the thought of nothingness!
Sleep a little bit more
It might seem like an absolutely bad idea but if you are used to waking up when the birds wake then it is perfectly fine to sleep for an extra one or two hours because unlike the birds, you don't sleep that early!
Find your inner artist
Even if you are bad at drawing it is never a bad idea to attempt to doodle a little. You can also "DIY" yourself with the many creative ideas that you can do with simple tools you never thought you could do. At the end of the day, you will always feel better about yourself.
Read for pleasure,
write for fun
With the daily studies, assignments and day to day ledgers you have to go through it must have been a long time since you read a book from your favourite author, or wrote a poem because you lost your touch in literature. It is never too late to do so. Scribble about anything and everything. Write about all the feelings you were never able to express.
DANCE TO YOUR FAVOURITE SONGS, SING YOUR HEART OUT
It has been over a month or so since you listened to music just as an excuse to bear with traffic or ignore your mother complaining about you to their "bhabis." But when you are in your zone of doing nothing you need to listen to your favourite songs for not just an excuse but as a mere feeling.
Then you need to turn up the volume of your stereo so that you can sing and dance your heart out. You need to feel the love and meaning of the song because your playlists has been your saviour the whole time when you were stressful.
Pamper yourself
It has been over a month or two since you last pampered yourself or spent money on anything and everything other than yourself and your precious body. Well, now you know it's time for some pampering. This goes for both men and women. Go to your closest salon and get yourself a nice pedicure, manicure and a good old head massage which will sooth your nerves.
Sugar, Yes please!
Working non-stop around the clock and also having to look after your body with a food chart of veggies can be exhausting. In the realm of nothingness, nothing can be as satisfying as a bite of chocolate and cakes, and everything nice! Enough of treating your brain, now treat your heart a little bit!
Life is not all about work and brooding over your past mistakes. There is no denying that life itself is a puzzle you cannot solve that easily but you can take a break from it all. Because less is always more!
