Help to Heal Fighting Breast Cancer together

BRAC University Natural Sciences Club (BUNSC) arranged their day-long fund-raising event, 'Help to Heal,' on 18 November, 2019 at their Mohakhali campus. The main objective behind this event was to create awareness on breast cancer and to help fight it at the same time.

Some of the country's most renowned and favourite brands were invited to take part in the fair as vendors.  There were 23 stalls — The Brand Store, Lunettes, Parmeeda, Organikare, Styline cosmetics, and Azuria to name a few.

The stall registration fee collected from all the stalls were given as fund to Community Oncology Centre, a social organisation involved in cancer screening and counselling, research on various types of cancer, especially breast cancer, and providing top notch treatment to cancer victims.

This was not only BUNSC's small token of respect and gratitude towards Community Oncology Centre, but also encouragement for this organisation in its continuing battle against cancer, and their contribution to society.

The event also included a session where the speakers were Dr Habibullah Talukder Ruskin, preventive oncologist, Community Oncology Centre; Hosneara Poly, a breast cancer survivor; Dr A F M Yusuf Haider, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, BRAC University; and Dr Mahboob Hossain, Head of Microbiology Programme, BRAC University.

The event ended with the fund being handed over to Dr Habibullah, followed by certificate distribution to the participating brands.
