Puma opens first flagship store in Bangladesh

Thanks to the collaboration of Puma India and DBL Group, the globally renowned sports brand, finally made its way to the Bangladesh market with their first flagship store in Banani 11. The launching ceremony took place on 7 April, 2019, with an evening of music, fireworks, and the presence of the country's most notable personalities, and cricketers of the Bangladesh Cricket Team.

Managing Director of Puma India, Abhishek Ganguly, in his inauguration speech, said, "Bangladesh has a rapidly growing sporting culture and we are excited to establish our presence in this country, in the heart of its capital. This being one of the biggest Puma stores in South East Asia is a testimony of our commitment to all the professional and aspiring athletes here. We aim to promote the growth of sport in this nation, supported by our unmatched equipment and gear."

Abdul Wahed, Chairman of DBL Group, said, "Many of us in Bangladesh are unable to go abroad to buy international products, and Puma has been a national favourite for sport lovers and athletes here. So, this collaboration was done mainly to make sure that we have access to top quality sports products from Puma right at home. It is in our mission to ensure that Bangladesh is in tune with rest of the Puma stores worldwide." 

Star cricketers Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Sabbir Rahman, Imrul Kayes, Liton Kumar Das, and Abu Haider Rony were the highlights of the event. The guests of the launching ceremony got to interact with them with a round of Q&As.

Mushfiqur Rahim expressed his excitement on opening of this flagship store, and said, "Such news is motivating for professional athletes like me and sports fans all over the country as we see this as a recognition of our evolving sporting environment."

The newly opened Puma store is one of the biggest in South East Asia spread over 2,200 square feet, showcasing and stocking the widest range of the brand's latest performance and sport-style products.

The creative designs behind the store layout, brand and campaign imagery, and product display were all integrated to provide consumers with a complete and immersive experience of the Puma brand.

The flagship store is located at House 153/E, Road #11, Banani.
