Fashion inspiration from the field
The shimmering lights, intense fight, and sweat and tears of rejoice after every game is not the only thing football players have done to win the heart of millions. Following years of practice and winning various trophies, these international football players have become more than just athletes. They have become the epitome of fashion and covers for magazines. Their influence is so great that the youngsters have not been too far from following their steps and tricks to polish their style, with inspiration such as David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Pirlo and many more!
Starting from the best of the best, David Beckham has graced the cover of many magazines and just about melted the hearts of women everywhere. So what makes him have the 'IT factor'? Beckham has been pulling off every look in just the right way. Be it in a sophisticated tuxedo or dressing up as a spontaneous hipster, Beckham can pull off just about anything! The key to do so is by simply following the good old trick of matching the shirt, watch, belt, pants and shoes. For the informal look, wear minimalistic colours which showcase your fun and fashionable style. When it comes to fashion, the name Cristiano Ronaldo must be summoned upon! How you ask?
This all-rounder Portuguese player, in partnership with Danish company JBS Textile Group, and the New York fashion designer Richard Chai, co-designed a range of underwear back in 2013, and that's not all. He grew his CR7 fashion by launching a line of premium shirts and shoes. In June 2015, Ronaldo announced that he would be releasing his own perfume line later in the summer. Be it a beige coat in winter or black scarf with full sleeve shirt, he is never afraid of experimenting. The thing to take away from his style is the idea of keeping denim alive all year long and to never commit to black suits!
The salons in the busy corners of Dhaka are die-hard fans of football players, evidenced by the immense highlights of the Messi, Ronaldo and Beckham posters, which might be a mere trick to convince you that they can give you that perfect wave and blonde balayage like Beckham, but the point of it all is mainly the understanding that these athletes have cemented themselves as fashion icons for men. And so, fans attempt to recreate these styles, with twists of their own. If you have wavy hair, an undercut would look great on you, but if you have straight long hair, consider Andrea Pirlo's haircut and the rugged beard for a change. Colouring your hair can be a bold move, but if you really want it, then by all means go right ahead! Just be sure to pick the correct colour that goes with your skin tone.
With all that said, at the end of the day, "you do, you boo" will be the anthem, but there is no harm in following your favourite star and blending in a little style of your own. Eclectic is 'in' this year boys!
