Man held with gold worth Tk 3.2 crore at Dhaka airport
Customs officials detained a man with 45 gold bars -- weighing over five kgs -- at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early today.
The officials detained Abul Khayer, hailing from Cumilla, after he landed at the airport from Saudi Arabia on flight SV 804 around 11:00pm Wednesday.
During initial interrogation, he denied having any gold bars but the officials searched his luggage and recovered the gold around 1:00am, said an official of customs at Dhaka airport.
The value of the gold is around Tk 3.2 crore, he added
Filing of two cases against him is underway.
