Man jailed for raping domestic help in Bogura

A Bogura court today sent a fifty-year-old man to jail for raping a domestic help in Bogura's Adamdighi upazila.  

The arrestee, Ansar Ali, is a resident of Santahar Yard Colony, our Bogura correspondent reports quoting Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi Police Station.

Ali was arrested from his home last night in connection with the rape case filed on Monday, the OC said.

The victim, aged around 35, has been working at Ansar's house for the last three months and was raped on April 16 when she was home alone with the man, according to the case statement.

At one point, Ali made the woman leave the house after beating her up and also warned her against disclosing the incident, the case statement added.

The victim was sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital, and the accused was produced before a court which sent him to jail, police said.
