Mufti Izharul's son detained after release on bail
The Detective Branch of police detained Harun Bin Izhar, son of Hefajat-e Islam Nayeb-e Ameer Mufti Izharul Islam Chowdhury, at the gate of Chittagong Central Jail after he was freed on bail yesterday.
Harun was released from the prison around 12:30pm after a Chittagong court granted him bail in two cases filed against him in connection with an explosion that killed three persons, said Deputy Jailor Manir Hossain.
Harun was taken in for quizzing, a DB official told The Daily Star.
On October 7, 2013, an explosion took place at a dormitory of a madrasa run by Mufti Izharul that killed three persons. Following the incident, police recovered four handmade grenades and a large amount of bomb-making materials from the madrasa.
Three cases were filed against Mufti Izharul and his son in this connection.
