‘Thumri’ took place on July 19, celebrating the Rabindra-Nazrul anniversary with music at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum. At the event, noted singers Kamal Ahmed, Yasmin Mushtari, Fahim Hossain Chowdhury and Afsana Runa performed, fulfilling the musical evening with wonderous melody. A discussion session, including renowned singers Syed Abdul Hadi, Khurshid Alam, Shelu Barua, Sujeya Shaam, Shahjahan Patwary Rawshan Ara Soma, Babul Reza, Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Syed Mustafa Kamal and Editor of Sargam, Kazi Rawnak Hasan was also held at the event.
‘Shantipure Oshanti’, directed by Shokal Ahmed, will be telecast on Boishakhi TV today at 8 pm. The drama stars Afran Nisho, Sabnam Faria, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Arman Parvez Murad and Tushar Khan, among others.
‘Fool HD’, directed by Aranya Anwar, will be broadcast on Maasranga Television at 8:30 pm today. The drama stars Mosharraf Karim, Sanjida Preity, Tariq Anam Khan, Abul Hayat, Arfan Ahmed and Rashed Mamun Apu among others.

Promising photographer Farida Alam receives the 8th Photoffee Photographer of the Year Award 2018 from renowned educationist, litterateur and critic Syed Manzoorul Islam at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, Banglamotor in the capital on July 12. Singer Taylor Swift was recently named the world’s highest-paid entertainer, closely followed by Kylie Jenner and Kanye West. The 29-year-old pop star, hot off her 2018 ‘Reputation’ tour and album, earned an estimated $185 million to take the No 1 spot. A press conference was held on the premises of Duronto TV yesterday to announce the launch of their eighth season, scheduled to air from July 14. The new season will consist of six new programmes and two new cartoons in addition to the regular shows.
