A juvenile steppe eagle spreads its wings atop a mango tree near the Padma river bank in Rajshahi. The migratory bird was released into nature after being treated for over a week. It was found sick in Natore's Halti beel by a farmer. The forest department with the help of “Sabuj Bangla”, a local bird lovers' club, rescued the bird of prey and brought it to Rajshahi. Before releasing it on Saturday, Bangladesh Bird Club and International Union for Conservation of Nature researchers tied a metal ring to its leg for monitoring its whereabouts. Steppe eagle is listed as endangered in IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Photo: Collected
