ABSENCE THAT'S AFFECTING ALL

As there is no proper bridge over the canal at Anforer Mour in Sylhet's Gowainghat, tractors with their trailers cross the water to fetch tonnes of stone from Bichanakandi, which is also a tourist spot, near the border with India. Apart from the vehicles damaging the banks of the canal, the water body is being choked by a makeshift bridge built with bamboo and dirt. Tourists and locals had been demanding a proper concrete bridge there. Photo: Anisur Rahman
