Alarming, no?

A gigantic billboard lies collapsed in Motijheel Shapla Chattar, the commercial hub of the capital, yesterday afternoon. A student was injured and a rickshaw damaged. By a stroke of luck no one was killed. This was a uni-pole billboard and there are scores more like this across the city. They are at high risks of collapse as the entire weight is supported by a single pole. This is why the Dhaka South City Corporation has decided to remove them gradually once the monsoon is over, said DSCC Chief Executive Officer Ansar Ali Khan. Photo: Anisur Rahman
