Within months of being demolished by the district administration and police, shops return encroaching on the side of the road in Kalurghat BSCIC Industrial Area in Chittagong city and in some places by chopping down trees. A shopkeeper said he bought one structure for Tk 20,000 from influential locals who are being ‘assisted’ by police.
