A danger of flooding, created by heavy rains in the haor areas of Sunamganj in recent time, has given rise to a new phenomenon. People are selling out their cattle which they fear would get washed away in the flooding, making the poor families completely broke. Traders of Sunamganj and Sylhet have seized the opportunity and are buying the cattle in boatloads at low prices. According to local people, around 200-300 cattle are being sold every day.
