The Chittagong City Corporation removed the concrete cover over this drainage outlet right underneath the busy road at Sagarika intersection after an explosion, caused by trapped gas, blew off part of the slab on February 10. Though the breaking of the slab was done to check the possibility of further explosions as an immediate precautionary measure, the authorities have not constructed a new cover since then, seriously hampering vehicular movement in the area.
