Two fishermen, carrying “bainga” (a long cylindrical bag made with bamboo), on their way to catch fish in South Surma upazila of Sylhet yesterday. This traditional way of fishing by putting live bait inside the bag and leaving it under water while fish get trapped inside, was once popular in haor areas. Due to drastic reduction of the water bodies and unabated encroachment on them, this way of making a living is becoming obsolete. The photo was taken on Fenchuganj Road yesterday. Photo: Sheikh Nasir
