Wasfia Nazreen, the first Bangladeshi to have climbed the seven highest peaks in the world's seven continents, receives the Meeto Memorial Award, which recognises commitments of young South Asians to communal harmony, peace, justice and human rights. Sister of Misbah Uddin breaks down in tears, while family members try to console her at a human chain before Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar yesterday. According to family and witnesses, Misbah, 22, an HSC graduate from Sylhet Commerce College, was standing before the district food controller's office at Zindabazar in Sylhet city Saturday evening when his friend Kabir Ahmed hacked him with a machete, which eventually led to his death.
