The lids of this and nine other sewer openings in Pargandaria of the capital's Jatrabari were intact just two months ago but were broken up by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) for installation of pipes. DSCC abruptly left after locals told them it was unnecessary, zone 5 Executive Engineer Kazi Md Borhan Uddin told The Daily Star on Sunday when the photo was taken, adding that they would fix it in 48 hours.
