A few iron rods poking out of a concrete base is all that is left of Shaheed Asad Memorial near Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The memorial was built in 1990 to recognise the contribution of Asaduzzaman who was killed at this place during the mass upsurge of 1969, but it is now hardly identifiable except for a worn-out plaque almost covered by posters.
