Onlookers gather around a Bagha Ayr (a kind of catfish) weighing about 88kgs brought to Bat Tala kitchen market in Tangail town yesterday. A fisherman netted it in the Padma and sold it to fish trader Momin Monday night in Aricha. Work on building a new 396-metre dual-carriageway bridge next to the narrow Kanchpur Bridge on the Shitalakkhya is ongoing with funds from Japan International Cooperation Agency. The Kanchpur Bridge is now considered a traffic bottleneck on Dhaka-Sylhet and Dhaka-Chittagong highways. The new bridge is expected to be complete in mid-2018. The photo was taken recently.
