Several vehicles brave a waterlogged road in Sylhet city to reach their destinations. Heavy downpour during early hours yesterday inundated a large area of the city that apparently lacks a proper storm sewer system. Some good Samaritans carry Md Nazimuddin to the other side of the street in the capital's Science Laboratory area. The day labourer was found unconscious near the Science Laboratory intersection. After regaining his senses, he said he got on a bus at Mirpur for Gulistan. Near Asad Gate, a person sitting next to him offered him a drink. Soon after drinking that, he felt dizzy. So, he decided to get off at Science Laboratory. But while getting down, he lost his senses and fell on the street. All of his money was also stolen. City dwellers continue to fall victim to mugging gangs known as Oggyan party who use sedatives in edibles to trap commuters. With Eid approaching, the muggers are on the prowl for potential victims.
